"In the following six years Dan with help from his buddies ( some of I must admit were quite the charactors) thrashed on me pretty hard ! When they cut my roof I damm near had a stroke as I had visions of being turned into a roadster! Sorta like one of those sex changes I'd been hearing about! They did end up putting the roof back on cept minus nearly five inches.The Pontiac motor, transmisson and rear end were put in without too much hassle. Course while all this was going on I was have'n some deep rooted thoughts that this whole idea may look ok on paper and may even appear to be a good idea to some over the hill speed farts, but as far as I was concerned this was a total fe-ass-co !"

"By August of 87 Dan thought that I was ready! Now what I wanted to know was... where in hell where my fenders, my hood, paint, interior, bumpers and all that other stuff that I used to have! As we headed for town on that very first ride I can tell ya that I was one damm nervous coupe! Hell I was even shake'n all over ( I later heard that Dan never did tighten the transmission bolts!) I did however notice that as we drove around town people were starting to look at me again. and with that 455 Pontiac motor keeping up with traffic was not a problem anymore. As the rides increased I was starting to develope an ATTITUDE. We shall talk about ATTITUDE more later." You following the story so far ?

"Things were going so so with the family. Danielle had her problems but doing quite well with all things considered. Her doctors all agreeded that it was her "up yours" ATTITUDE that was making all the difference! It was at about this point in time that another child was born into the clan, a girl that was named Desiree.

"Now let me tell ya that the whole crew enjoyed taking me to the local cruise nites and street rod events. The family was haveing a diversion from all of the medical events in their lives and I was simpley having the time of my life! Somehow or other Danielle got hooked on Oldies music from the 50s & 60s so she fit right into the street rod culture. She loved the events, the people and of course the music. A great deversion for her as well. Course yours truely is feeling pretty "cool" by this time. Hell I still was minus all that normal stuff most of the others had but I had the one thing they didn't, that KICK ASS ATTITUDE ! To this very day wonder if that was Danielles gift to me!"
